    After reading your post I thought of George Rogers Clark’s Illinois Campaign of 1778 and 1779. They faced adverse weather conditions.

    The Battle of Quebec on 31 Dec 1775 comes to mind. It was fought during a snowstorm.

    I do too, but to each their own. My likes and style would be simple and plain, however I certainly can see the elegance and beauty on embellished stocks.
