Why is this marked For Sale if it has been sold?

    Muzzleload shotgun availability

I am new to muzzleloading and have recently started looking at buying a shotgun for upland bird hunting. I was frustrated to see how few manufacturers there are of shotguns and how expensive they are. Can someone explain this to me? I would have thought that BP shotguns would be quite common.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

A .440 ball. The ball puller screw did the damage.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

My little Shark steamer loosened up and then blew out the gunk in under 5 minutes. :) Thank you, all for your help.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

Good to know! I am going to try it now. With my little steamer not a locomotive. :)

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

Hey that is a great idea and luckily I already have one! Silly question but...you don't think there is any danger of ignition with the heat applied from the steam? I know its water vapor not a spark but I had to ask because this is my frist time trying this method.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

***Update*** So the C02 discharger was useless in my situation. I ended up using a ball puller which immediately dislodged and removed the stuck ball and patch. My last issue is removing the hard. caked powder/ballistol mixture from the breach. Even with the ball out I was unable to blow out...

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

Yeah too much gunk in the beach. The one time I forget to do a thorough cleaning after the range and I sure paid for it.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

Well... Shooting it out did not work. I even managed to get 10grs of powder into the beach but no go. Im going to buy a Co2 discharger and try that before using a ball puller.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

Thanks for all of the responses. Just to clarify - it is not a dry ball. It is a fully charged and patched (with wonder lube) ball. The issue is that the powder I poured down the barrel became saturated with Ballistol that I idiotically left in the barrel from my last range trip, aka, I did...

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

Thank you, all for the responses. Today was a first of many NEW mistakes, I am sure, as a new BP shooter.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

OK. I have never tried that when there is already 30grs of powder loaded. Only with an uncharged ball stuck in there.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

With a charged rifle? Plus I have heard the ball puller is a very last resort as it can expand the ball or mar the barrel.

Stuck ball in a charged rifle

I think have left some Ballistol (which ended up pooling in the breach) in the barrel of my .45 T/C Hawken percussion rifle. I loaded 30grs of powder and a patched .440 round ball to test the accuracy of that load at 25 yards. My ram rod is marked for that same load and it lined up so I know I...
