Possible 17th Century Doglock Barrel and Stock.

Hello all. I'm an old member, but not posted for many years. When I first started in this hobby, and made my first posts, I was young and very naïve about old muskets. But now that I have a bit more experience and have been able to do research of my own I'd like to get some fresh opinions on...

    Irish Brown Bess Manufacturers

Thanks and sorry, I was in a bit of a pickle over where the musket in question could have been produced and the markings definitely indicated Irish origin. But cheers for that bit of info. :hatsoff: T4M

    Irish Brown Bess Manufacturers

Also, to be honest, Dublin Castle is the only manufacturer I have heard of that made Brown Bess muskets in Ireland. Do you think that would narrow down the possibilities to just this one manufacturer, or would there be some lesser known maker/ makers? :idunno:

    Irish Brown Bess Manufacturers

It seems that I yet again need some help. I recently heard about Irish Brown Bess muskets and I saw one particular model ( a third model type 2, made after 1809) and wondered what Irish manufacturer it could have been made by. I've only heard of Dublin Castle as a manufacturer but I wanted to...

    My brand new wheellock pistol

Damn! that's a nice pistol you have there. I've always been looking at wheellocks but the originals are always fabulously expensive, but this looks great fun as well. T4M

    EIC P-1771 Brown Bess

thanks a lot, I really do appreciate it and I'll keep all this in mind if I want to buy one. But do you know anything about the P-1771 musket itself? Like where it came from and why it was EIC, or why the army didn't adopt it until later? Cheers, T4M

    EIC P-1771 Brown Bess

I've been looking through IMA's online stock and I keep seeing their EIC P-1771 Brown Bess muskets and don't really know much about them. I wanted to buy one but I need a bit more info on the musket so I was wondering if any of you helpful chaps could tell me a little about this musket. Cheers...
