    Painting Sights

For a long time I carried a little bottle of White-Out as part of my shooting gear, just in case I needed to brighten up my front sight. Works okay, but the stuff seems to chip and fall off just from harsh language, let alone actual wear and tear. Today I put on a carefully sized dab of the...

Spit patching while wearing a mask

You're right. But...is there no way to edit one's posts? I don't see it... edited to add: Nevermind, I see it on this post. I guess there's a time limit?

Spit patching while wearing a mask

Quick...call the CDC and let them know your magical method for ascertaining that you haven't been exposed to the virus. They have this silly notion about asymptomatic people spreading the thing around; they'd probably love to hear your special trick. News flash: it's not the mask making you...

Spit patching while wearing a mask

Sorry, but touching the mask and your mouth constantly is probably worse than not wearing it at all. And, yes, virus particles are vanishingly small...but they are orders of magnitude larger than molecules. You can smell through a mask because most odours are the result of individual gas...

    Very stupid, very lucky

That's the term! I'd forgotten. The point is that dieseling is normally considered a harmful and dangerous problem with airguns; that German gun, a HW Barrakuda I think, was an unusual exception to that rule. But there are always folks who latch on to the exception...rather than the rule...

    Very stupid, very lucky

It's just an extreme example of the same kind of nonsense you see every day on a shooting forum. Guys who buy a .45-70, and immediately feel the need to hot-rod it to .458 performance levels. Trying to turn a .308 into a .300WinMag, or a .223 into a .22-250...just different varieties of the...

    TC .32 Cherokee

Congratulations, Bledfor Days...you beat me to that one. I saw the ad, did my usual hemming and hawing, finally circled back with intention to buy...and saw that the ad had been updated to Sold only minutes before. I snagged a .36 Seneca off CGN a couple years back, and loved it; the only...

    Pet Peeves

These two are probably more gun-forum related, rather than specifically gun-related, but here goes: First, people who are so lazy that they can't be bothered to put any effort into proper spelling and grammar. I'm not talking about folks who are simply poor spellers, or who use a period where...

ive got a jumbo barr hog coming behind the house think ill hunt him this week

Thank you, sir! I had no idea; wild hogs are rare up here...extended winter spells of -30F to -40F might have something to do with that...and when you come across any you are expected to shoot on sight. Again, congratulations on the nice pig. :)

ive got a jumbo barr hog coming behind the house think ill hunt him this week

Congrats! I've been watching this post for awhile, hoping for this outcome. :) Now, could someone edumacate a dumb Canuck on one point: Do people actually trap wild hogs, castrate them, and then release them back into the wild? Considering the damage these critters do, is that considered...

Brass Black on Brass Furniture Question

That looks outstanding! I always like the look of naturally-aged brass on a ML; my own efforts at getting a "distressed" finish on brass parts left me in greater distress than the brass. I may have to try your technique. Thanks!

    2019 Alberta Elk Hunt

Outstanding! If there's one thing better than success...it is success that comes after hard work, at the end of the week rather than the first day. Congratulations.

    2019 Alberta Elk Hunt

I read a lot here, and almost never post...but I just had to tell you that this is a wonderful thread. As an aside, my dad retired at 63 after being told that he had cancer; prognosis was 3 to 6 months. He passed away at 84 from unrelated causes. Fingers crossed crossed for you!

    whiskeys

I asked my wife to pick up a couple bottles for me at the Liquor Store when she went into town yesterday. She came home with a bottle of White Owl, which was discussed here awhile back. Great stuff, and apparently there were a dozen more bottles on the shelf. An increase in production? As...

    Cleaning With Urine

I just found this thread; what a terrific idea! The best part of this plan to use pee to clean my gun...is the fact that if I do that, there is less chance that I will accidentally take a swig from the wrong bottle while in my deer stand. :) Yes, sadly...it has indeed happened...:)
