SOLD Kibler Woodsrunner, .45 cal, completed

For sale is a .45 caliber Kibler Woodsrunner in plain maple. The steel is all browned, the stock was finished using aqua fortis and Tried and True Varnish oil. It has never been fired. In my opinion, the .45 is the best balanced of the Woodsrunners, and this feels great in the hand. Please note...

A blind man can assemble and finish a Kibler Woodsrunner

Call me a novice, but I can't figure out how to add the brass end cap to the patch box lid while maintaining the contour of the lid. How is it done?

SOLD Chambers PA Fowler barrel, lock, and hardware

Ok guys, I goofed up badly enough working on the stock of a Chambers PA Fowler, I've moved on in life and started working on a new kit. To make the goof up sting a little less, I'm selling the lock, barrel, and all the additional bits and pieces that came with the kit. The barrel is a Rice...

    Your Flintlock History

My earliest childhood obsession was The Last of The Mohicans. I had no idea what the plot was, but I was very consumed by the imagery. In the late 90s, over Christmas break, I "helped" my grandpa put together a kit. I think it was a Chambers Isaac Haines, but it's been a long time. Grandpa was...

Welcome from another Hoosier transplanted to Arizona. I always miss my beloved Indiana this time of year. So many great Christmas memories from growing up.

    Kibler Woodsrunner historical accuracy

It isn't in either book unfortunately. Shumway wrote a short article in the October 1982 Muzzleblasts on the rifle, and stated he wished he'd included it in the RCAs.

    Kibler Woodsrunner historical accuracy

I'd say it is a very faithful recreation of a rifle from that time and place. RCA Volume II has quite a few Valley of Virginia rifles showcased, and the Kibler Woodsrunner is of very similar geometry, with similar caliber options, and the large English roundfaced lock. As you mentioned, it's...

    Help, I have an Addiction!

Yes, I'm in that boat too. I've done two Colonials and two Woodsrunners since September. The results keep getting better, it's fun, it's relatively easy, the rifles look great. Hard to beat.

SOLD Completed Kibler Colonial, .50 cal, extra fancy maple

UPDATE: I carved a couple simple lines into the stock of this rifle. It was a first attempt for me and I'm pleased. I think the big stock of the Colonial needed a bit more "interest." It is still available for those of you who may be interested in its "new" condition.
