BUYER BEWARE - Mntnhntr is a SCAMMER

IP addresses do change, and using a "proxy" service is very common these days. Although, in this case, cost and sophistication likely negates a proxy service.

Headed to the range today with my .54 Kibler Colonial

I have a Kibler colonial and old eyes... I REALLY struggle with that seemingly tiny and shiny brass sight! Have some thicker dark steel sights coming from TotW to help (I'm hoping) with that. So if JK reads this, offering some alternative sights would be appreciated. Cheers! Hussar

Hawken Classic Location Cancelled by the St. Charles County Parks Department

Thanks Bob, I knew Maryville didn't sound right! I stopped being involved with that venue about the time they took over. I see the 2 gentlemen that saved the Zephania Sappington house are still involved. (Bob and Barney)

    Flints - English vrs French

Zero scientific fact here, but "I feel like" I go through French flints much faster than English. I've been looking for flints too and have the same observation.

    The Best Muzzleloading Movies

Broken Chain, Waterloo, The Horatio Hornblowr series, The Duelists, The Buccaneer, and Chasing the Deer, which is so obscure I'd be shocked if any has heard of it. Plus pretty much all the movies mentioned in the previous posts. Saw at least one that interested me. Good posts!

    Shooting all by one’s lonesome

Alone. I'm not keen on chit-chat. Shooting as a social event will vastly improve your ability to use a ball puller, and while I've not done or seen it, proof your barrel with double loads.

    Ft. de Chartres Woods Walk

Crazy things they had us do at the November Fort de Chatres woods walk... like 20 years ago. I had to submerge my powder horn in a bucket of water. Make a turkey sound while sitting down then shoot a turkey target. Answer questions about local flora. We had a Monsanto botanist on the team...

    Thoughts on long-barreled smoothbores

I have the Pennsylvania Fowler that he offers that was also put together 20+ years ago, by Chuck Edward's. It's been a great gun! However it seems to prefer 3f; tried 2f a few weeks ago, and the results were, simply put, unacceptable.
