I figured I would post this here just to give a heads up to forum members

Where I am from that qualifies as “False Pretences” in plain language communicating with intent to deceive. Email scams and the like are other examples. Sounds like the local constabulary and possibly the FBI might be interested in this. This is a criminal offence wherever you hang your hat!

What is your favorite era of muzzleloading?

You are immediately forgiven as I suffer from much the same condition! I started out with percussion and enjoyed hunting with my mountain/plains rifle . I also have a replica .36 Remington Navy that I have not shot in years as we can only shoot pistols/ revolvers on a bona fide range As there...

    Main charge question

Well, I have tried 90 (good),100 (Gooder), of two fg. I got more horse 🐎 out of 120 3fg and call it quits there. I have to be careful with my loads and caps as they are on short supply here!

    Main charge question

I obtained this information from my manual supplied with the rifle and from the information gleaned from Sam Fadala’s excellent “bible” on various blackpowder firearms. He said on page 115 quote: “we feel we peaked out at 130 grains volume.” End quote. This is from The Gun Digest Black Powder...

Using car wax as a preservative

As early as 1971 I was using a Johnson paste wax which had carnauba in it. I was put on this by an old colleague who used “Blue Poly” on his service revolver at that time. He said he’d been using it for years and never had issues with rust. I continued using it on all of my firearms ( the...

    Main charge question

I have used 120 gr. of 3fg in my JBMR .54 calibre for moose backed with wasp or hornets nest. My rifle is proofed to 150 3fg powder btw! I use 40 gr for targets as they don't get aggressive!!

    Jonathan Browning Mountain Rifle question

I have two in .54 calibre. One dressed in brass ,the other in steel browned finish. I know of another in my area so that's three . They were very popular after the Jeremiah Johnson film came out.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I frustrated myself by getting my new (Traditions) bore light stuck at the end of my .54 jbmr! I tried to shock it out by pounding the bbl on the carpeted floor that is but to no effect. Then I put a cap on and forgetting where i was touched her off...well you should have heard the commotion...
