    Using a Patch Knife.

    I use a 2” knife as my patch knife. I also have it attached to my sling strap on my bag so it only gets used for patches. I see it as our equivalent to a quilters fabric scissors. Never use it for anything other than patches.

    OK. Stupid Question Time

    I would put as much powder behind the ball as possible, put the musket nipple back on and then put some ffff in the musket nipple and light that. It should just act like a matchlock with a flash hole to keep the pressure up in the barrel. Just a thought.
