Why didn’t you educate him instead of ignoring him?

    Beaver's

Yes they dig tunnels in river banks, have seen them many times when the river is down, especially under uprooted trees. I know guys that noodle a lot and I use to go with them occasionally but I would never do river banks because I don’t know what would happen if I grabbed ahold of a beaver and...

Been hanging back a bit since joining.

i also have been the shoulder surgery route and went crossbows, but i dont enjoy shooting them. i have a long gun, but recently got a bp revolver. you might consider one of those, it has really helped scratch my archery itch for some reason. happy shooting......

    Help a new shooter out.

i recently had the same problems. i went to the slixshot website, ordered #11 nipples for my pietta 1858, put them on and no more problems using #11 nipples. i am using pyrodex p, and found it pretty easily. in my area i can get it at cabelas and dunhams. basspro should have it also but i have...

    Cleaning between rounds

You are right about that. If everyone just used search until they found an answer, there would be much less discussion. Maybe that’s what they want. Don’t understand why if they don’t want to respond with an actual helpful answer, why can’t they just roll their eyes and keep scrolling? Maybe...

    Found my Remington Sheriff

When my brother and I both recently acquired pietta 1858 Remingtons ( mine is the sheriff), we went to the range and had issues with the cci #11 caps falling off the nipples of unfired cylinders when shooting, even when pinched. Others on the forums have mentioned this also. I started “crimping”...

    Found my Remington Sheriff

I recently bought one from cabelas also and it has been near perfect so far except for the pietta nipples/#11 cap issue. Changed to slikshots and now I love shooting it. Fit and finish is great also imo…

So I was about to pull the Trigger on a nice Uberti 1858 but I think I might change my mind...

i switched to slixshots on my pietta and they are excellent. i believe they are a little higher in cost than the TOTW though.

    Percussion caps #10s and #11s

Check out any gun shows that pop up in your area. I got 2 tons of #10 at a gun show in Oklahoma. The guy didn’t have any other bp stuff, so just a random find I guess.

    Cap pinching

Your input was useless, as I’ve seen on a lot of your other comments in different areas. I have no use for people that say some of the things you say. Many know what I’m talking about. Just scroll on by any of my posts if you can without comment. I know you will have to have the last word, know...

    It’s getting pretty bad!

I attended one last Sunday, saw two very old revolvers, two flintlocks. Other than that all I saw was two tins of #10 Remington caps, which I grabbed. That vendor had no other bp stuff at all.

    Cap pinching

    Cap pinching

Have read many threads about pinching caps so they will stay on the nipple. While considering buying an 1858 Remington revolver, my brother beat me to it and bought one. Naturally that’s all the persuasion I needed to get mine. Already having #11 cci caps for our smokepoles we put those to use...
