New Uberti 1861 Navy from Midway. Buyer Beware!

Can’t start putting up with shoddy goods and getting screwed. The UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) covers problems like this, no matter what the seller says. With a little friendly persuasion they would’ve made it right. One photo to a supervisor would have probably fixed this. Too passively...

Portability: Pietta Ace 1858 vs. 1860 Snubnose in .36 or .44. (Birdshead grip)

A colt 1860 design in .36 is known as an 1861. Of the three types of guns you’ve mentioned an 1861 is by far the more concealable. It’s a smaller package.

Hello to my fellow Black Powder enthusiasts!

Some people would rather shop-fiddle their guns than actually shoot them.

Bought a pieta 1858 Remington. Looking for some load data and answers.

A real bad-ass with an unresolved power conflict and a potential poster child for the gun control lobby. I’m convinced now - some people shouldn’t even own guns.

Why are Uberti pistol boxes so flimsy?

A cardboard box. An urgent 21st-century issue. The fate of Western civilization hangs in the balance. Muh box.

Bought a pieta 1858 Remington. Looking for some load data and answers.

I question whether a hollow point would be the best bullet for this gun and this application. I would choose a 190 to 200 grain slug with a moderate to generous meplat. I have both the Remington 8” and the 5.5 and each is a great shooter. Pietta. It would never occur to me to go deer...

Big changes to his Remington revolving carbine? Or not...

So yea, OK. What? Winegar is one cringeworthy dude. Creepy.

Interesting Cap & Ball Paper Cartridge Information

I miss that good man. I guess everyone does.

what size ball to use (exactly)

For the Pietta 1860’s and 1858’s it’s .454 every time. That works best for me and mine.

    Paper nitrating question

Coffee filter paper is too heavy. Cig papers are plenty stout enough. I’ve made and shot a thousand paper carts and they all ignited. Never nitrated, not even once, it’s completely unnecessary.

    1858 Remington Brass real ?

No. Brass .44 and .36 Remingtons are strictly an Italian thing. Never happened in real life.
