    NEBRASKAN'S ROLL CALL!

Although I was born up in the Sandhills, I've been way out west in the Panhandle for a long time now. Mainly flinters, a couple of caplocks nestled in the bunch, though. Did historical trekking and rendezvous a long time ago, thought about Civil War, just never "pulled the trigger".

It's a Springfield kind of Christmas!

Ummm... off Gunbroker. I've had them a while now and can't remember the company's name off the top of my head. I'm working (OTR truck driver) and won't be home until this weekend. I'll check and PM you.

Thanks for the input! I plan on using the same can of powder and the same tin of caps, as well as a clean barrel between each "string".

    A little Independence Day salute...

Not kidding. Getting ahead is all. I have begun to fear birthdays as the wifey-poo and kidlets spend the whole year figuring out what to do to dear old Dad every year; bag of flour over the shower curtain, firecrackers in bed, substitute salt for sugar in my birthday apple pie, etc. Gosh, I...

Kinda what azmntnan said; put the ol' mountain man sneak on her, slid into the bedroom, put a whole bunch if firecrackers in the stockpot, aka "sound chamber", and let 'er rip!!!!! :shocked2:

    A little Independence Day salute...

As a side note... So what do you do with leftover firecrackers? Sneak into the bedroom with a sack of Blackcats and a stock pot. I'm still not sure why I'm in trouble????

    A little Independence Day salute...

Off the front porch. My sons and nephews loved it!!! Brown Bess carbine, 100 grains FF Goex with a paper wad. Did it about ten times before we decided to put it away. We can get away with a little more mischief than usual tonight, but why push our luck?

It's a Springfield kind of Christmas!

Yessir, I agree. It's a fine place to live. Well, I struck out with procuring components locally today. I received a Cabela's gift card from the folks, so I went to the store with hopes of buying some musket caps. Nope. Plenty of plastic inlines, sabots and substitute propellant, though...

It's a Springfield kind of Christmas!

Thanks for the info! I have been looking at different styles and TOW sells them in packs of 25. I could get a couple packs of different types. Find what works, melt the rest.

It's a Springfield kind of Christmas!

We have a tradition where we open one gift on Christmas Eve before church. The wife and kiddos surprised me with a Pedersoli 1861 Springfield musket! Quite a surprise, indeed! Now I have to get my kit together. I haven't had a percussion gun in ten years so I have to start fresh. I have...
