    Witnessed Unsafe Behaviors

I was shooting black powder last weekend and the guy next to me lights up a cigarette. I mentioned I was shooting black powder and he glared at me packed up his stuff and moved to the opposite end of the line - kept his cigarette lit the whole time. We’re a no smoking range.

Percussion, ok I get it, but...

First thing that popped in my head is that it might be a salesman’s sample. If I was trying to get someone to switch over, it might be a useful tool to showcase features and benefits.

    Deer Hide Bag

I know this revelation may make my skills as a Scouter suspect, but we use Badgemagic to attach patches to uniforms - no sewing. I’ve had patches attached this way for years and even go thru the washer and dryer with no issue. I think it would work in your case. It’s a bit like double sided...

    Dutch Oven

I’m a Scout Master and the final morning of any camp out, I have the kids make homemade donuts. I keep it simple by using biscuits in a tube. The get the oil nice and hot. Poke a hole in the biscuit and drop them in. Flip them over when one side is golden. When they are done, the kids pull...

I’m RSO at a range and they want to add steel plate so folks don’t have to go down range in the winter. The range is 50 feet. Anyone have any experience with steel plate and muzzleloading. Not sure if I should go 3/8” or 1/2” thick. I was also thinking about suspending targets with chain...

    Revolver Identification

Hey Guys, I have two revolvers I’m trying to get more info on. They are both in wooden cases but the cases are larger than the boxes for the guns, so I don’t know if they are original or aftermarket. The SN on the guns match the boxes. Any idea what I’ve got and the value for each. Going to...

FF and FFF powder for rifle and pistol

A good general rule is 2f for anything over .45 and 3f for .45 and under. For rifles start with a charge equal to your caliber and for pistols use a charge 1/2 your caliber. Play around with your charge until you find where you group best. Blackpowder substitutes (pyrodex & 777) burn a little...
