Like the cold in Vermont post, It's pretty cold here in Alberta, -20 again this morning. Supposed to warm up this afternoon, then into the cold again. I made these two pouches fashioned after one I got from an old time shooter in Edmonton. They are made from some left over pieces of moose hide I...

Travel and hunting Bears in BC, Canada from Aussie.

I second this. I'm in alberta next door and caps and powder are non existent. Cabela's has had some pyrodex now and then, and there is a fellow in Edmonton from the Alberta Black Powder shooters association that brings in quantities of Schutzen. About 6 months ago some caps showed up at Cabela's...

    Flintlock Rifle Flash Hole Placement

My feelings exactly. We should be encouraging people to get into the sport and enjoy it. Like most sports people start with lower end budget equipment to see if they like it and down the road upgrade to something better/different. With threads like "these are all junk" how many potential new...

2024 cap update, bad and the bad

I lucked out a couple months ago and found CCI caps at Cabela's Canada. There was a post on another forum they were in stock. I bought 500 at 11 at night online and they were all sold out by 06:00 the next morning. I'll be good for this year and next. Shooting the flinter a lot.
