    Help with identification and value

    I definitely would pass on this revolver. There is just an oddness to it overall. As mentioned, the sight, rammer, brass frame and the finish looks not quite right. My revolvers from 1959 and 1960’s have been fired a lot, but they don’t look like that one. Pass.

    bending brass for patch box cover?

    I bent my piece of brass to fit the curvature of the end of the patch box lid. Fifteen minutes tops from heat to final form. Piece of cake. And a few sips of coffee in between… :cool:

    New to muzzleloaders need help identifying a tc muzzleloader

    Beautiful rifle ! Start out with a .440 ball, pillow ticking for patches and a good lube. Stack all that over FFFG black powder. Start your charges around 45-50 grains of powder. Increase the charge 5 grains at a time until you find what the rifle likes. Consider getting a range rod for...

    This post is for anyone who wants to ask Newbies a build question.

    I might consider shoving a snug fitting dowel down the barrel. Line that up so the bore is hopefully parallel to the table surface and perpendicular to the drill or tap bit.:cool:

    Colt Signature Series Anomaly Question

    All I can say is that I have Second Generation 1860 Army in stainless steel. It’s unfired, but the barrel wedge number does not match the rest of the revolver. That’s small potatoes.

    CVA-Derringer “Sight Hole”

    You can probably put a dab of epoxy into the hole and press the front sight into it. Let it cure then clean up any epoxy that might have expanded into the bore. Or, shove a cork or something into the bore, then epoxy the sight. Let it cure and remove the cork and clean up what’s needed.
