Best way to safely remove rust

I would go slow and see what you end up with. Worst case scenario, you learn about the chemicals you use and gain experience to use on something in the future. DW

Restoring a neglected Traditions Kentucky Rifle

I went back and re-read my post. Just wanted to clarify that I wasn't trying to be an a$$, I had just never hear about not pulling the drum. Or maybe I got my nomenclature skewed. DW

Restoring a neglected Traditions Kentucky Rifle

I have read to never remove the breech plug. But I have removed drums many times on my guns. DW

    Creative Ignition

My #11 cap maker should be delivered this afternoon. I paid $50 (shipping included) for the tool. I have read that people that have bought the tool and made caps are getting nearly 100% ignition, depending on the method they use for charging them. DW

Tired of wasting lead. Bullet trap ideas?

The traps I made for my airguns are filled with rubber mulch. Works very well, and helps with the lead supply for round balls. DW

Tired of wasting lead. Bullet trap ideas?

I have read about filling a 5 gallon bucket with play sand and a sheet of rubber directly under the lid. Sure wouldn't be light weight, though. I will be interested in seeing the replies you get. DW
