    .31 caliber revolvers

it is actually really easy to load the 1849 with out the loading lever I don't find the lack of a loading lever on the Wells Fargo a problem at all.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Well it was last night, but I took ownership of that Maynard Carbine I have been trying to sell. A family member who knows how much I wanted it paid for it, then gave it to me. :D I will be restoring it as much as I can and making it pretty. I know that old patina means something to a lot of...

SOLD Maynard Model 2 Ready to fire

I have to admit, when I was told I could keep it I was pretty happy and inlaw dads heirs still get the money they are owed.

SOLD Maynard Model 2 Ready to fire

A family member bought it then turned around and gave it to me. Seems someone who loves me just fell into a nice tidy sum of cash and I get a gift. Sorry folks I gave y'all a fair shot at it.

need help with percussion hammer striking nipple to high

There ain't no easy fixing that and making it right. The lock was placed wrong and the way it has a snail there is no adjusting that part. I'd work on the hammer and either lengthen it and bend it our just do some unsightly Dremel work on the hammer nipple interface to make it more square of a...

    PRB or Bullet?

I have shot all of 1 of those Hornady 385 gr bullets. Loaded with 90 grains of 2f and I nopped out of any other shots. I melted them down and turned them into roundballs.

    PRB or Bullet?

How I do things when hunting, I load with a PRB, but I keep 275gr TC Maxi Hunters for reloading as the conical loads faster than the ball and once I take that first shot I have just enough fouling in the barrel to hold the conical a bit better and my conical load out doesn't do well with the...

    1/48 twist conicals

If I am shooting conicals from my rifles (all 1/48) then I prefer the TC Maxi Hunter 275. If I use the heavier 350 grain ones I have to put too much powder in it for my old and delicate shoulders. Whomps on me too hard. But those 275's work great with 10 more grains than I use for the PRB load.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I have a nice amount of bear fat set back and I keep hoarding it instead of shooting it. Just I don't see much bear in my future, they don't come around these parts and the idea of dressing out a bear and packing it out does not appeal to me.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I shot the Maynard model 2 more this morning and it was really fun. And I learned that I want to put musket nipples on all my rifles. Those large caps are easy to handle and are nice and hot. If I didn't have a thousand regular #10 and #11 caps I would be ordering musket nipples today. But I...

    WANTED Sharps Carbine or Rifle

.50 the brass was loaded with a slightly larger bullet for a solid seat I found that I can use a .530 roundball with the brass if I use a loading lever. Shaves a nice ring and the bullets are solid set. I had to paper patch some TC .50 Maxi Hinters. I used the 275 grain round. I got a better...
