    Gardening Round2 Deer problem

Cats can, but not always, take care of mice. One of mine carried a dead mouse for 3 days, I finally disposed of the lil critter, quite nicely chewed on. Domiciles in the woods need a good "barn cat" to take care of mice, ground squirrels, etc. I've got the cats, just need the house in the woods!

Been thinking of moving to western NC for a while, trying to find out how good or bad the VA facilities are. Glad to see a Nawth Carolinian heyuh! Welcome, indeed!

    Gardening Round2 Deer problem

You can even get solar-powered electric fencing now; very effective! Back in college, buddy and I went squirrel hunting in a wooded pasture area - with owner's permission. As we were leaving, he stopped to "water the grass", turned away from me. I noticed he had his "Sweet Sixteen" cradled in...

    Gun range

I lived in south Florida for a total of 42 years. That part of Florida makes a pancake look like mountains! Gotta go where there's not only left and right, but also up and down! (giggle!)

    Did I ruin grips

There used to be a product, think it was called "Barkeeps Friend" that was used to remove water rings from flat, finished surfaces. Rub it in good, circles disappear. I always thought it must be very fine valve grinding compound.

    Gun range

I am contemplating buying some land and building a house in rural western NC. One of the biggest requirements is if I can build a firing range of about 200 yards, with safe backstop. I'm currently in a small Ohio town with NO place to shoot! Of course, given my history, I'd like to have a...

Flintolock pistol rises, never hit the target :-(

The cock on our old fashioned pistols also has mass. And as it goes forward (clock-wise if you're on the right), it can cause a counter-clockwise torque effect, adding to the firing recoil.

paper patching for the .44 Remington pistol

Amen! You gotta get things set up proper, then it's like a ballet, all working in harmony.

    How old are ya?

If I live to September, I'll be 79 years old. The way my body has been beaten up by Vietnam, I'll be surprised. Getting more difficult to move around. When I was 6, we moved to England, had my 6th birthday in the middle of the Atlantic. We were a Navy family, and traipsed the world. This was...

bending brass for patch box cover?

It has a very large radius bend from the butt plate forward. I was thinking of using an oxygen tank as a form.
