    I pin whenever I can. As to original guns, you see more screws on poor boy mountain rifles than on Pa. rifles from known builders. Pinning, especially if the TG is inletted, seems much more secure. Semper Fi.

    I use either MinWax Ebony or Spanish Oak. Both are very dark to black when multi-coated. Being oil-based stains, they're also good wood protectors. Semper Fi
