Long time fascination with muzzleloaders, bought my first one in Tokyo way back in 1954, was a top quality matchlock.
Was a soldier at the time serving with the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR hold the US Presidential Unit Citation).

Have been shooting MLs ever since and made a few, mainly target rifles.
Spent 4 years as an army armourer and a further 10 years as an Australian Defence Department armourer but the last 2years was as a machine shop foreman. Been in the mechanical engineering field till my retirement at 60 (5 years early as a reward for having served!!)

Still shooting and still enjoying MLs although I target shoot moderns a lot as well (.22rf, centre fire, both rifles and pistols).
