What do you use to keeps nipples from seizing?

WD40 does NOT "draw" moisture. It displaces it. Thus Water Displacing formula 40.

    Looking for some guidance here

Take a look at the Traditions Trapper pistol. It's the most accurate ML pistol I've ever owned and the kit is very easy to assemble.

UPS lost 2 - 1 lb containers of Old Ensford 3f Black Powder

That's one of the many reasons I don't deal with Midway or UPS any more, it happens way too often.

    Minie Balls in GPR?

The Lee Improved Minies that I cast measured exactly .501" with BHN hardness of 10. Ioaded one at the range last week and then pulled it. I found Strong rifling engagement. Saturday I cast some with BHN 13 lead and they measured Just a hair under .502. I'll see how they shoot Wednesday...

    Minie Balls in GPR?

I will let you know next week. The minies weren't tumbling so I have hopes. Early in the civil war as lot of flintlocks were converted to percussion, so I imagine those has pretty slow twists.

    Minie Balls in GPR?

I made some .501 Improved Minies in an old Lee mold just last week to try in my GPR. They didn't group really well, but I was having problems with my trigger. Got the trigger fixed and I'm going to try again next week. Sure are easy to load in my .50 GPR. The twist in my barrel is one in...

    Making Percussion Caps

I have made and fired a couple hundred of the aluminum caps in my C&B revolvers. Virtually 100% reliability. I only tear my revolvers down completely about once a year and this year I was surprised to find aluminum scraps everywhere. Even some small ones in the trigger return/bolt spring...

    Inflation/fuel question?

There's only one cause for rampant inflation. The government is printing "money" as fast as they can. Rememeber, after WW2 in Germany it took a wheelbarrow full of "money" to buy a loaf of bread.

LYMAN GPR Users Unite and tell us your story

Just converted my Lyman .50 cal percussion GPR to Flint. Used an L & R Lock. Probably take it to the range next week. Hope it shoots as well a my frankenrifle flintlock.

    Making Willow Charcoal

The stove I'm using is a heating stove, not cooking. The door is only about 12 x 18 so a 1 gallon paint can just fits. I have a lot of old lumber that I use for fuel. Last time I made charcoal I used grape vine prunings. Didn't seem to work any better than the poplar.

    Making Willow Charcoal

I use a wood stove for heat. Makes great charcoal using a gallon can. I use poplar because that's what I have. Works very well.

    This is insane...

The reason is simple. "Slow Joe" has the printing presses running 24 hours a day. If you're old enough to remember the days of Jimmy Carter you will understand completely.
