    Cleaning the .32 Kentucky. oops!

Mine doesn't have a patent breach. My vent liner is slotted and gets removed pretty often. If it's not slotted it gets more Interesting and will probably result in needing to replace the vent liner. Might try a small easy out (by small I mean tiny) that will fit the hole already in the liner. If...

    Kibler - field observations?

My .58 colonial does not feel like a 9 pound gun. Balances in a manner that makes carrying it in hand very easy. When people say it balances well I'm pretty sure they mean it's balanced where you're going to grip the forearm. Held approximately where you would shooting it it's neither muzzle...

    Alloy?

I only tried wheel weight balls once and it wasn't a good experiment lol never tried them in my little gun and I don't figure the smoothbore is going to care much about alloy. I don't have the .50 anymore. Took my nephew out and let him shoot it. He loved it so much I gave it to him with a pound...

How safe is it to use lead round balls while hunting?

Really it's the lead oxide that is super dangerous anyways. Pure elemental lead is not much of an issue. The amount of lead oxide that can get in an animal from being shot is really very minimal. The problem with lead from a waterfowl perspective is the either Intentionally or accidentally...

    Napping your flint

I have a little brass rod I bent a loop in the end of and filed a birds mouth in the other end I use for pressure flaking.

Powder charge. How much powder do you use.

I've never noticed the deer caring at all. During the rut I would be surprised if it didn't set them off since they way they smell the world is nothing like us. As for the op I run 70-80 grs in my .58 colonial smoothbore. I've shot bigger charges and lighter charges with no discernable...

    Alloy?

Also found a thread on castboolits saying g they are 97.7% lead, 1.9% antimony and .4% tin.... defi Italy not pure the ingots don't thud when dropped

    Alloy?

If this is accurate that seems like an extremely high antimony content. Might make good smokeless rifle bullets but I'm doubting it's usefulness for BP stuff. Still so cheap I won't pass it up. Been thinking about a big BP/smokeless rifle of some kind anyways.

    Alloy?

They have a steel core so it's rusty. Sort of annoying to melt down cause they are more steel than lead. I've got buckets of them that have sat outside for years. Got a bunch of other lead too but I know flashing and pipe are pure and the other big pieces are really hard.

    Alloy?

At least I think that's what they are. If not maybe someone could Inform me otherwise

    Alloy?

Does anyone know of what alloy power line insulator seats are? I've got several hundred pounds of them and they don't seem pure but aren't super hard either.....

    Kibler smoothbore bare ball

Thought about trying it. Even if it would just mean faster follow up shots if necessary.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Shot the .32 with a new patch and lube combo. Loaded much easier than what I had before. 30 gr goex ffg (weighed) Walmart plow ticking 7:1 ballistol dry lubed with .311 Lee ball. In about .5 inch at 25. Group looks a little bigger on target but it was slowly falling over as I shot it so the last...

    Kibler smoothbore bare ball

I shot mine the other day bare ball. 80g ffg goex .562 ball with half a folded up Walmart receipt rammed on top. Put 4 out of 5 on a 4 inch gong at about 30 yards shooting rested off a tree. Was fairly happy with it considering the very undersized ball.
