Shooting a ramrod out of the barrel..?

I was test firing a beautiful handmade flinter. After two shots I had decided to buy it. The third shot put a piece of the ramrod through the target. Yes, at 25 yards it was on paper but not black. The other two pieces were on the ground in front of the target. It is reassembling to shoot...

Euroarms Rogers & Spencer 44 revolver

As for accuracy, my father-in-law successfully competed against contemporary target pistols during the late 1940s with an original R&S purchased used in the 30s.

Beer Can Busters of the World Unite

At the rendezvous in Raton, NM they have a shoot called Pop Cans for popping the cans, regardless of previous contents. It is a two shooter team event. Two aluminum drink cans are set out at about 15 yards. The bottom one is filled with water and the top one is empty. The rifleman has to shoot...

    New Duelist1954 YouTube videos

Great! I put front page links to both on cap-n-ball.com. These are so thorough that part 4 would only need to add percussion lock and caps to complete a full muzzle loading course.

    New Duelist1954 YouTube videos

I always enjoy Mike's videos and this new flint offering is superb. and Not just for beginners either. . I consider myself advanced (not expert) and this very useful as well as entertaining. As for his wardrobe I particularly enjoyed the video about his hats. Of course it started with his...

    Who Shoots Originals?

My late father in law used an original R&S to shoot (and win) against modern 38s. This was the first muzzleloader I ever shot. Now my best handling shotgun is a 25 guage SXS Andrews (London). Everyone who mounts it loves it. My wife has a Belgian SXS in 13 gauge left and 45 cal. right. I...

    Must set trigger before cocking

Thanks to you all. It turned out to be the spring tension adjustment screw just behind the setting trigger as shown in the photo by Scota. I had the assembly out in my hand and watched the bar drop. Much to my surprise the allen wrench required wasn't even the smallest in the set. As an...

    Must set trigger before cocking

Thanks for the help. I guess a shim will be the answer. Too bad as the trigger assembly is just flush. I did try a Davis Deer Slayer trigger and it didn’t have enough clearance to set at all. It may be a few days, but I will post results.

    Must set trigger before cocking

I bought a pre warning TC Hawken in .45 which would not cock. They gave me a good price and thought I could fix it. Turns out that you must set the trigger first before halfcocking. Researching the web found a couple posts that said some guns were made that way by the manufacturer. Does...

Rice Barrels BIG .50 Cal at 1,200 Yards, 3 Consecutive Hits on Steel

I recently discovered your youtube videos and found them both interesting and informative although I have always been a PRB shooter. Now a father-son procect requiring bullets, the white buffalo at Whittington with my old guns and his young eyes. The rifle is a TC Hawken in 45 with a factory...

    CVA Double 12ga

I bought a factory finish one, never fired, at a garage sale. I called CVA tech support back when they still supported sidelocks and the guy said that it was the best gun CVA ever sold but the price with a CVA label just didn't match up. I thought about adding a very thick butt pad to get more...

    SOLD CVA Mountain Rifle

I picked up a couple of these kits in a box from a dealer going out of business. Had to buy the set triggers and several other parts from Deer Creek, but I got one completed. The barrels are excelent and have no markings of any kind, not even the little spade some owners mention. If it was...
