    I built a SMR in cherry. I didn’t stain the wood just letting it get darker naturally. Finished with several coats of waterlox and hung on the clothes line between coats.

    I have never heard that before. I can see how ignition time would be affected. But how can worn out liner affect accuracy?

    Thanks for all the responses. I’m thinking this winter after the Pa flintlock season is over I will get it worked on. Brad Emig built the gun so I will probably take it back to him to replace the liner.

    The touchhole liner in one of my guns is getting pretty worn. It’s a white lightning, at what point has a one here replaced theirs. It’s way beyond the point of round tooth pick fitting in. Also to where every now and then my 2f powder comes out. My question is at what point should it be...

    I have shot it several times. I live a few miles away from where it’s produced and have seen where it’s made. If it’s not real black powder than I don’t know what is.
