    I am trying to brown a Green Mountain barrel. After around ten coats of Laurel Mountain browning solution I am giving up. It is not taking in some areas. I draw filed the barrel and sanded wit 320 paper. Using shower for sweat box. As I start anew any ideas? Thank you!

    Now it's your turn to read even slower. You seem to take offense at the inspection process. The point is that if the drilled ramrod hole eluded your own personal inspection (which is not hard), it would have been easy to miss by the manufacturer. No malice intended.

    I find it interesting that you spent so much time working on the stock (two of you to boot) that you didn't even get the slightest hint that the ramrod hole was drilled wrong. If the mistake was that hidden would it have been visible to the manufacturer? Ramrod holes are tricky things to drill...
