    How old are ya?

    80. But my mind thinks I am 25. My body thinks I am 95. So it all works out!

Continual trouble inserting Uberti 1858 cylinder

I own both and am going no where. Love the Colt on range day. The Remy for fields. One of the reasons Remy goes to the field is when you change a Colt cylinder you have too many pieces in your hands. At a bench you just set them down.

Fears Deadly Deer Disease Could Infect Humans

Yep! We have boned everything, forever. Also do not see any sense in freezing bone.

    CVA Flintlock ignition issues

Me too! But I use HOT water down the bore. Is usually about a quart to soften everything up and flush it out. If you are starting with a clean rifle it makes a big difference on a range day.

    Toilet bowl cleaner

For me it was a horse shoe that needed cleaning. Cake did not come in big jugs like now, but a 7 cent Coke did the job. I often wonder how they learned this stuff!

    How Ridiculous is This?

It is stuff like this that keeps my flinter working overtime. I use brass shim stock to roll my own for the six guns. I recently added an inline that uses shotgun primers. Things are getting silly!

    Caps Made In Idaho

Getting older now, but I still like to be a bit independent. So I have stopped using caps in my rifles and use primers and flinters. Cheap, available and effective. I started making caps for my revolvers and that has worked out OK. What I like is that I can make BP as well, so my arms will work...

    Goex Back in Stock!

This I can not confirm BUT apparently Goex I has a contract coming for propulsion powder for the 155 howitzer. Apparently it is a true black powder and they are the supplier. Problem is capacity. I understand he Feds are giving them 14 millions for plant upgrades. You can bet they will be...

Squirrel Hunting and shooting RB into the air.

Smell is the strongest sense and you got my juices flowing just thinking back. Thanks!

Oh dear, this is not MY Canada......

So where is my counsellor? I sure as sticky, brown, smelly stuff am in distress over this type of silly!

I Told a Big, Fat Lie a Couple of Weeks Ago

Sissy Boy??? Easy does it Pastor. After we spend a few decades on God' s planet our views tend to change. When I grew up times were not easy and wildlife filled the food gap. When my five children were at home we ate many critters. As my family grew and dispersed In a few years my grandchildren...

Shooting low with M1840 musket, How To correct?

How much does that add to the D of the ball? This may provide an answer to a bit of an issue I have had elsewhere.

Ok laugh now. I dont care i like it

Nice to see some can do types here. We are talking expedients here - not the extended use of equipment for something other than intended purposes. Many years ago I was sent to a remote turbine sight after a failure of critical equipment. We needed a special cut part and only had a GOOD drill...

    Welding

For a ' lasting' repair like that you need a couple of long gear clamps! Old days were fun huh?

Steel Truck Bed Tool Box for Gun Safe

Hey Packrat, you are so correct. Do I really care if some lowlife removes himself from the gene pool? Not really. Do I care if some kid takes a firearm to show and tell? Yep I do. My lock ups will not stop a determined crook but it will stop some smart ass kid - easily. My advice - do not get...
