Sights recommended for 45 cal rifle

I just acquired a very nice Jukar 45 rifle with a 32” barrel. It has a fixed “V” rear sight and missing the front sight. Both sights mount with 3/8” cutouts. Any recommendations/experience with a decent pair of sights that would fit the 3/8” mount and be adjustable?

    Homemade black powder pellets?

I’ve been reading quite a bit about making black powder. I’m also interested in forming the self made powder into pellets but find no mention of how to accomplish this in any of my readings. Is it possible? I love shooting BF so I’m not a purist but an explorer and for me pellets would be a...

    TC rifle comparisons

Ive been looking at Hawkins and Renegades and I got twisted up because a few of the Hawkins had different length barrel in 50 cal. Did not know about the 1” and 15/16”. Never heard of White Mountain, PA Hunter, etc. sheltered life I guess but will keep on looking. Gun Broker is familiar to me...

    TC rifle comparisons

I’m shopping for a used TC 50 cal and I realize I have no idea what the differences are between models, nor can I find anything that compares models in the same caliber. Has anyone tripped over this kind of info and can direct me?

    Can't see sights

Poor man’s peep sight: black plastic electrical tape 3/4” x 3/4”, punch or cut 5/8” round, punch 1/8” hole in center and put on shooting eye of your range glasses. Amazing how well this works.

    Stubborn Stuck Bullet

I’ve never done that assuming it was a big deal. Just how easy is that approach? I’ve always assumed it would take 3 men & 1 boy to break it loose.

    Stubborn Stuck Bullet

I would play it safe and for about $25 you can buy a grease fitting and a hand pump and a grease cartridge. Replace the nipple with the grease fitting and pump away. It is amazing how much pressure the grease pump can produce. Once the bullet is removed, clean out all the grease. And have a...

    Cabela's chaps my hide.

The Basspro near me seems to be only interested in selling boats and clothing. Gun inventory in the library non existent and smokeless ammo stock is ok, but black powder stock is limited to a 3’ wide by 5 ft high shelf. No powder, caps, some round balls and that’s about it. I have to order on...

    Offhand shooting?

If your noticing a delay between flash and boom you may need to clean the flash hole to the barrel. Flash/boom should happen almost without noticeable delay. Now, what helped me with off hand was to practice with sticks to support the front of the rifle with your front hand grip keeps the...

    Can't see sights

You might try this to see if a peep will work for you. Using standard electrical tape, punch a 5/8” circle followed by punching a 1/8” center circle in the 5/8” circle. Stick on you range eye protection (shooting eye side) and it’s really like having a rear peep sight. Works very well for me...
