My 1756 Long Land Pattern Kit - TRS

Just finished a TRS 1742 model...with a little help on a half-cock issue. Inlet the barrel without the breech plug. looks like you are past this already. Install the breech plug. I used brownells anti sieze...but that is not the issue with install. You need to make sure you get a tight fit on...

    not holding half cock

Tried all of the above. I'm going to try a new sear..it does look like th.e tooth may have chipped slightly. Only thing left in my quiver. I did do a little deepening of the HC notch...seems to hold a little better...more pressure to set off....both with trigger. I'll report back finding...

    not holding half cock

I was able to get the lock to hold at half cock when using just a ruler to push on the sear. This is the trigger. Some red grease showing where the sear moves along its path. Do I need to take more off of the trigger?...or do I have too much off of the trigger (thereby needing a new trigger)...

    not holding half cock

All, I have a TRS Tower Long land lock that is functioning fine in my hand..ie..holds half cock n...unable to get it to go off in HC. Nice transition to full cock. Buttery smooth. When I place it into the stock I will not hold half cock. Goes off just as if on full cock when I pull the...

    touch hole location opinion

Question...as you can see my touchhole ended up being lower than the optimal placement (sunset). I did do two test fires and it it went bang right away. BTW...I don't care if it whoosh-bangs...its a military musket used 90% of the time for re-enactiments...with some unit live shoots. My...
