Shooting shot from rifle
Is it done? I have a .40 and a .50 southern mountain rifle and was wondering if it causes any issues to run say 6 shot out of it like a smooth bore? If so what is the procedure?- Bean

Shot and cleaned squirrel
Well, I got an education today. I decided to go hunt some squirrels with my flint .40. Not a great idea. I shot at 3 and got 2 but Lordy that forty completely disemboweled the critters. I think I know my next build. Something smaller. What's a good set up for tree rats?- Bean

Pan priming
The one thing that I've noticed is that less prime is faster. I'd like input to that but it really does seem that when I use just a tad of primer it is faster. When I use a good bit it's very slow.- Bean

Try going on a new Cabo yacht. Every screw on the boat is "paraded" aligned. It is impressive to see the quality and detail on a vessel that is up to 52 feet. It says a lot about the overall attention to detail, as your rifle does by parading the screws. yes, I'm in the boat business...- Bean

Round Bottom Rifling Grooves?
It is a more durable system. I have my modern barrles cut radius as well. If you research you will find that the US sniper rifles built now are radius 5R. The fouling rate and peak accuracy range is far better. It generally takes about a dozen shots to properly foul a barrel for peak...- Bean

I have a Southern Mountain butt plate with a lot of curve to it and I wanted to take a bit out so I don't have to cut so deep into the blank. Bending steel
OK new for me - I need to bend my but plate just a bit so I can get a good draw length. What is the process to bend it. It does not want to cold bend. I gather I need to heat it with a propane torch. Do I need to quench it in water or just let it cool? Any tricks to this. I have not...- Bean
