    I wore those as Motorcycle Boots. Even when off my H-D they were recognized as M/C Boots by others. Very Gentlemanly Boots with the straps and rings. Maybe they should have been sold as "Winchester Mod 1866 boots ".

    Everyone has explained it so well that I am only adding what I use. I have soft lead for ML, and old style wheel weights for 'unmentionable' pistols and I have gotten some Linotype metal to alloy with the WWs for unmentionable rifles. I hope that I haven't led anyone to 'the Dark Side'?

    I had a local Liquor store that sold cans of 'no name' sodas at .10 cents a can. The sales tax started at .11cents, so they raised the price to .11cents plus .01 cent tax. I usually drank RC Cola, 16oz bottle for .14cents.

    My only 'real' flask is one that my Dad converted to a lamp back when he was a teen, (mid 20s), made from a 'Civil'? War flask. It no longer has the old cloth wiring. But it is a memory that I use nightly.

    I usually run a .358 SWC and .452 RN with WWs after fluxing to clean. Slightly .001" oversize. So you think that would not lead a bbl at a faster speed?

    I am learning so much in here. I always thought that pure lead wouldn't work as a bullet as it would 'lead' the barrel, unless it was very low velocity. WWs are great in 'unmentionables' at 800-900 fps loadings and the Linotype mixed in worked in rifles. Excuse me, "unmentionable" rifles.

    I was thinking about hardness. You answered my question. I have a problem. Guns that are CF and Caplock, & one Flinter. Long as I cast RBs with flashing lead and the rest with WW & LT. Thanks.

    I would like to ask a 'dumb' question. I was told to only use 'pure lead' balls in BP Rifles. It has at times been difficult to get lead to cast balls. There have been more than one statement about using wheel weights to cast balls or minie' balls from. Is it OK to use WWs in BP?
