Today a man robbed a bank in Denison, Texas, using what appears to be a black powder cap-and-ball percussion revolver (brass frame)...

I read somewhere when they made C&B handguns FFL here, that the last recorded use of a muzzle loader was in 1973, and it was with a single shot 50 cal cap gun.

Criminals are moving up in the world
Live in Texas. BP/C&B guns/revolvers are not considered to be firearms but are considered dangerous weapons. Which means no FFL required so they can be shipped through the mail. Plus, Texas has Constitutional Carry, no CCW required. C&B revolvers do have a steep learning curve in order to use them safely, so, I'm surprised some Wanna-Be badass would take the trouble if he/she is interested in preserving all of their fingers and the integrity of the weapon. But then, criminals have never been known for being overly bright.

Well, most bank tellers are probably not educated in the ways of firearms in general, much less black powder versions. I know for a fact that many criminals have used Airsoft guns or similar after painting over the orange muzzle piece, so the "weapon" looks more realistic to those who might find themselves on the business end of said device.

That's the very last thing we need.

"Earlier today, a man who couldn't buy a regular revolver due to his criminal why history bought a black powder revolver online and had it shipped to his house without a background check."

I can hear the uproar in the congress already.
This already happened and is why Cabelas no longer delivers muzzle loaders to your door

That's all we need to have them going after our BP guns
