I ordered a rifle on July 26th and it arrived in the Troutdale FedEx hub on July 30th. According to the “travel history” the label was unreadable and the next day “destroyed.” It “left” in transit two more times and yesterday, it said it was going back to Troutdale again. This morning, I read that the shipper has requested it be returned but it still shows a good delivery date to me. I know this isn’t normal, but has this happened before? Is shipping black powder rifles a sketchy deal?

I spent a gob of money on this thing And I am totally excited to get it. I’ve called FedEx and can’t get a live person on the phone.

Grrr.

Looks readable to me. Some individual shipping offices whether FedEx, UPS or U.S. Mule want nothing to do with anything that might be firearm related. Forget laws, etc. Their non-reasoning is irrational. Good luck following up on this. BTW, I am waiting on several payments mailed to me for items I am selling that should have arrived before today. The old U.S. Mule must have broke down on the trail.

I ship internationally, and the shippers are losing more and more.
It seems the packages get to their DC then get lost.

I had one client who had to drive between two DCs for two days to get his package to stop being bounced between the two.

the DC polititions are going to be putting exeme pressure on all shippers in the future when it comes to shipping gun parts across the USA. numerous news articles on this. I believe its to curb the AR platform ghost gun folks

I shipped a package from central Pa to northern Idaho about 6 weeks back. It went via Fedex since it was very long, but packed well and the entire package and label was covered in clear tape. Fedex claimed the label was unreadable in travelling 30 miles or less from the drop off point to their hub. It made its way to somewhere in southern Idaho, and then on to Troutdale where the label was unreadable again! It did eventually make it to is destination on the Idaho/BC border, but seemed to be in limbo with BS excuses for a couple of days.

USPS and UPS both have their own problems with theft theft and damage, so not just Fedex.

If the barcodes on the label are covered with clear tape they can't be scanned and therefore are "unreadable". This applies to the USPS and UPS too.

The label that I attached was printed from my printer and SCANNED by the local shipping agent who gave me a receipt. I had printed and attached similar labels in the past and never had an issue with packages going to Ohio and Texas.

This is a sad testament on our society and the people we trust to run and handle the delivery system. It seems that people have been with low moral standards more and more. Theft, fraud, cheating, the list goes on and on. No longer can we trust a handshake as our binding word.
