….Hello, everyone!

I’m Rob-Many eyes may focus on two words: “New Jersey,” but I’ll chuckle and say that despite our draconian gun laws, if any members on this site knew Mark Aziz, from The Rutgers Gun, Boat and Book Center in Highland Park, he was an old friend and almost a: “mentor” for a: “Dumb kid from New Brunswick.”

Long story short, as a kid, I would walk down our Main Street-And in those days? Shopkeepers didn’t shoo kids out-They actually *taught* them things. When my anti-gun parents refused to let me join a shooting league, Mark actually ratcheted the rotary dial of his old phone and talked to my mom-I’ll never forget it-I was 13.

And for my birthday? At the time, our gun laws didn’t cover antique guns manufactured before January 1st, 1899-And for $375.00 (Back then!) I found myself with a Remington New Army-Ca. 1862.

…A gun I carry and fire today.

Years later, I attended law school in Florida-I had the luck and privilege of meeting Richard Graffuis from: “Buffalo Bill’s Shooting Store.” Richard literally gave me a: “College education” on black powder, reloading and so much more!

Today: I *do* own an AR-15; It’s equipped with a: “Lead Sled” magazine cutoff as a single-shot rifle. The gas port is welded and it sports a 34” Sharon Barrel. I’m positive it’s the only: “Black Powder” AR in existence!

I also hold an FFL, volunteer time with local hunter education classes, and *adore* when adults and children alike rush over during the black powder class to enjoy shooting my custom-lined .58 caliber rifle made from an IMA: “Brown Bess” kit. The old Nepalese Musket? Has now become a 100-yard: “Tack Driver.”

….Hand me a modern AK? To quote the character Matthew Quigley: “….Never had much use for one.”

Welcome from Maine.
Years ago Lucien Langlois of Strictly Muzzleloading built an AR muzzleloader.

I knew Mark Aziz quite well-to the point of he and his wife LOUDLY debating something or another each and every time I was in the store. The store was a great source for the "odd and unusual" with regard to both firearms and out of print books. I still have my copy the "The Rifled Musket" purchased from Mark as well as a Navy Arms 1803 Harper's Ferry Rifle! I was also close friends with the infamous Charlie Stone of Neshanic Depot fame and well acquainted with Val Forget Sr. Welcome to the Forum!
P.S: I am from Central Communist NJ also!
