Had to google it because 'Into the Wild' was also the name of the movie about the moron who hitchhiked into the Alaskan wilderness and starved to death in an old school bus and I really didn't think you'd be talking about that. LOL Would'a watched if I'd seen your post yesterday.

I thought it was really good. The only turn off for me pretty much like all western shows. Their clothes, buckskins and sort, looks like they came right out of the dry cleaners or off the store shelves.

I subbed for a teacher who used the book "into the wild" as a lesson on what not to do. The book clearly shows what can happen to people who act without planning.
I also enjoyed reading about a man who went into the Idaho mountains with a twenty five lb bag of salt, some traps,,a reproduction Hawken rifle with supplies an axe and some fish hooks and line to live. Three years later he was brought out and charged with all kinds of hunting and fishing violations, but he had been doing quite well.

Dang, missed it…just found this thread. Set to record series, hopefully there will be reruns…

Ill try and remember to remind you. If I remember to remember. lol

Yeah , the new looking clothes and dandy beards lessen the effect for me. Also they were all terrible shots in the big gunfight about the horses. I'd give it a C for a grade.

I don't know how historically accurate the "revenant" was. BUT I really enjoyed every minute of the sweat-stained buckskins and the weathered muzzleloaders.
When he fell into that river, in the middle of winter…OMG.

The guns and costumes of that movie were amazing, the hard life that was lived back then…incredible

I wonder how many days they went without food. I mean when maybe they shot an elk they ate great for a few days. when that was gone, how long until the next meal? What did they do when it was freezing raining? I could go on and on. BUT think of the things they seen.
