Ya know…. It would be nice if whomever bought it would sell BP in a store. Front of House. Save on these outrageous shipping costs.

BUT….. I’m sure there would be many legal hurdles and hoops to jump through. Also, safety.

But… fireworks are sold in like manner. Just thought I’d throw this out there for conversation sake.

Another great product from ACME

When fire works are sold in Texas the stand is normally a ways from houses. They bring in a travel trailers and park it there for someone to stay in. Not sure if that it to stop thieves or if it is a state requirement to guard the fireworks.

Do know when I buy from Coonie's you have to place your order in advance. They go to the bunker to get it and bring into to town. The storage requirements are very stringent and expensive. If it was simple folks would stock it.

From the Hodgdon "about us" on their website.

In January 2009 Hodgdon acquired an American icon GOEX Powder, Inc. GOEX has a rich history dating back to 1802 where E.I. Du Pont de Nemours broke ground on his original black powder plant along the Brandywine River in Delaware. Goex Powder, Inc. manufactures black powder used for sporting applications such as civil war re-enactments and flintlock firearms, and is a vital component for industrial and military applications. Located in Minden, Louisiana, GOEX Powder, Inc. is the only U.S. manufacturer of black powder. Hodgdon then sold the GOEX plant and brand in 2021.

Most all fireworks sold in this country is manufactured in Asia and Europe. The reason is obvious. The fireworks made here are good and reliable. Those makers make their own black powder. You can too.

Wasn't there someone on this site, maybe the other M/L site, that described himself as a successful businessman that didn't need the money, just wanted to get the ball rolling again and was looking into buying the plant? Whoever it is, I wish them great success. I hope they use the Ford, as opposed to the Duesenberg, formula of profitability, Make a little profit per car and sell millions, or make a lot of profit per car and sell hundreds.
