It is likely that someone will buy the brand and/or the whole factory at some point. In todays climate, it might be a hard sell but at the right price someone will do it and see a profit. Time will tell.

Yes, I think Hodgedon will go all in to find a buyer who is interested in continuing the brand and the plant. Financially, that would seem to be the best outcome for Hodgedon. Also for the folks who depend on employment by Goex.

All in all it's a wait and see situation I guess.

Correct! I have an acquaintance whose daughter is high up in DuPont. They will have the facility up and running by the first of the year. He said his daughter is excited about being transferred to the plant and her house up for sale. Tons of high grade US powder soon. Be patient.

Am I correct in my stating that DuPont was the original manufacturer starting in 1810?

Thanks!

Walt

Man I hope you are correct. It would be great to see them up and running quality powder. If Goex can be sold, we could have 2 American options within a few years.

I don’t think “ soon “ is not the operative word in this situation.
OSHA regs, haz-mat issues, Federal and State licensing, insurance, snd a hostile Administration, etc. do not stack up to be anything approaching “ soon” .

True, someone will take over Goex within the next year. And a large Corp
will be able to move fast since they already have a compliance structure in
place. Goex was profitable, but not to the extent to overcome a major
setback. Now, a large outfit like Dupont can use the production for
military contracts and sporting use. Goex has brand value for more than
just powder. You could re-brand many products under a Goex super brand.

I’m trying to understand “I don’t think soon is not the operative word etc”.
😅, it's simple, it's a double negative,, so he really means it's true. (at least for those of us that understand language)
He thinks "soon" is good.

I'll never forget an exchange with a co-worker years ago,
We receive from rail car deliveries, we had been waiting for a car for some time.
At shift change he asks;
Him; "is the rail car not out there?
Me; "correct"
Him; "can't you ever answer yes or no?"
me; Yes.
him; You mean the rail car is here?"
me; No.
him; "then why did you say it is?"
me; 🤔

I’m trying to understand “I don’t think soon is not the operative word etc”. Do we need a lesson in sentence construction?
Lmao.
Yeah, I see a lot of that here. Some worse than others. That certainly wasn't the worst of them. I've seen some posts I've just given up on, Chinese instruction manuals translated by a Chinese speaker with 4th grade English as a second language can make more sense.

Proof reading isn't a bad thing folks.
A couple months ago I found myself in a multi page battle that could have been avoided if I'd proof read a topic reply. The while thing was because I thought one thing but wrote something different.

DuPont has friends in DC, if they want it up and running so shall it be😊
That’s the way it is.
If you have shallow pockets with no politicians in them you’ll end up tied in knots with red tape and drowning in an alphabet soup of regulatory agencies’ demands.
$$$ grease the skids like ex-lax, gets things moving!

I would think if anybody can get that ball rolling quickly, Dupont can. They started out making black powder, it would be nice to see them do it again.

Hope you are right! Haven't read a word lately about the "Great Powder Scare" on line. Maybe guys have cooled off and just await developments. With all the shipping backlog, gotta wonder what guns or powder is sitting off-shore somewhere!?
