no sir! Mr. patchbox. a "harvest" is "the process or period of gathering in crops" an animal is not "a crop" it just makes me a little ill at everyone trying to talk political correctness. we are men and we need to talk and act the part! or next thing you know we will not know who we are! no there no two ways to the middle, he killed the deer he did not harvest it!
Ok here we go again...now we has an argument between "harvest" and "kill"....Referee, YOU CALL IT and get them back on track:ThankYou:🤣.

I shot the deer to harvest it, it was a clean kill.

I ripped the carrots up from the ground to harvest them, it was a slow death.

Everyone happy now 🙄
Now that's funny....I don't care who you are & God bless all the little pygmies down in Africa". You just gotta love Larry' The Cable Guys sayings.

Afternoon everyone, I’m a long time reader who finally decided to join the forum. I’m using my first post as somewhat of a new member intro as well as a highlight of my”traditional” muzzle loading journey. Attached is a picture of my first buck taken with traditional equipment and with bullets I casted myself. I took this buck with my my T/C big boar shooting a hand cast 440gr Lee REAL bullet.
Great 1st post, Congrats on your 1st traditional muzzleloader kill.

amen! it all started to get real bad about the time they took God out of everything. i have been going to a prison for the last 20 years or so. they let us come in and preach! we say what what we want to the we want to, we have church! but isn't that interesting they will not allow kids in school to pray or mention Jesus. but in a state prison it is ok! that is because they know preaching the word works to keep peace! anyway the kids and even older people now are being indoctrinated into a pack of lies, and it starts with the small things like speech. weather it is changing it or telling you to shut up when you disagree with them or say something they don't like, and it will only get worst. sad,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Oh jeeeezussss another one of them zealots

Congrats on a fine buck! Tell us (if you haven't already as I've not yet read the entire post) a little more about your hunt. How far was the shot, where were you hunting, the amount of powder used and what time of the day it was? Did you scout the area beforehand or was this a place you've gone to many times before?

I had bought the T/C big boar off of gunbroker because I had always wanted a 58cal. I have a T/C cougar as well and a few other T/C’s I always had an obsession with them. Anyways this was going to be my first year hunting with traditional equipment exclusively. I bought a Lee REAL mold and my hand cast bullets came out at 442gr. I settled on a load of 90 grains of 2f goex with my cast bullet lubed with T/C pine scented bore butter. The gun absolutely LOVES this load and will shoot clover leaves at 50 yards benched off bags! After getting my load worked I felt confident out to 100 yards with a good rest. My best friend has 100 private acres right down the road from me which we hunt every year together. We always run cameras on it, but struggle to kill any “good” bucks off of it each year. Well this year we moved a few stands around and the day before opening day of muzzleloader we decided to move “my” set to a oak ridge overlooking a real steep holler. I hunted till 10am before I saw the first deer a doe, immediately followed by the buck in the picture. I had an opening on him at 80 yards and when he stepped into the hole I shot him. He just flinched and ran back towards my buddy, who was huntin just down the ridge from me. I sent my buddy a text and asked him if the buck came by him and he said no. So we sat for a hour and got down to look for him. Upon reaching where he was standing there was no blood so we walked to the last place I seen him and again no blood. So my buddy chalked it up to a miss and I wanted to make one more “loop” on the area. I walked back to the last place we were and made it another 20 yards and he was laying there stone dead. He never bled a drop! The shot went through both front shoulders maybe a shade low. In total he made it about 80 yards. That’s the long and drawn out story haha. But I will say it was a day I’ll never forget and a task off my bucket list. The buck I killed was never on any of our cameras I guess a traveler looking for a doe.

yea well that is the problem with the whole world! just sit down and shut up! that is what we are told now! the social media and the woke crowd is trying to keep us silent. well if you don't like my opinion then don't comment on what i said! how about that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Your reasoning seems a little odd to me. My grandmother lived to be 100 years old way before being "Woke" or the internet was even though of and right at the beginning of cars and electricity being commonplace. She told me that if you don't have something nice to say, then say nothing.
So to me, it seems you are a victim of your own argument.

wow! all this because i corrected some speech. what is odd to me is people on a hunting and gun forum is down with political correct talk. and haven't you heard, i have already been put on the "permanent ignore" list for my "rabid behavior" all because i dared to say harvest was something you do to plants that come from the dirt! and that is 100% true! so no my friend i am not a victim of my own argument. and i apologized to the man i seem to insult for some reason. the next time you go to the butcher shop ask the butcher where he "harvested" all that meat from! see the reaction you get and let me know how that works out for you! and i bet your granny would have gave you a strange look if you asked her where her Sunday chicken dinner she having was harvested? please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
My Granny would have sent me to kill the chicken myself which I have more than once. The issue is not about being PC the term harvesting wild game has been around long before the internet.
I'm 70 years old and I don't remember a time when The Missouri Dept of Conservation didn't call the number of deer taken in any season a "Harvest" it's a term that has been used for wild game for a very long time.
