Why don't you involve her in your sport and then she might?
Actually she is involved. My first one was a reject and I had to throw her back but this one is a Keeper. We met at the firing range where our two groups once met for some friendly ML shooting. Some 15 years ago when we met I was one of those nefarious "Stitch Counters" and still pretty much am. She just don't fully understand some of the lengths I go to to experiance the 'old ways' to their fullest. Biting her nails to the nubs as she has watched me Indigo dye and Black walnut dye, etc all in our apartment...worrying that once slip and we lose our deposit...but the whole time she has come to like the smell of Stockholm tar, smoked hide, and the flavor of wild beasties.
I think her 'apprehensions' of my extreme to find the right materials, colors, buckles, and buttons has now become more of a 'fascination'.

When we met she was a Civil War camp cook and mail carrier and I was a filthy buccaneer. Since we joined we have done all from 1600 to Civil War and Victorian together and these last few years we have taken to mountain man together.

Growing up, yard work was generally a punishment - I pretty much still view it as such today, much to my wife's dismay.
"Punishment"??
Growing for me a 'punishment' was being told "No, not today" by a neighbor for yard work was how I got money for the things my folks wouldn't or couldn't get me!
But while my wife may give me many 'odd looks' or even toss her arms up and walk away at times, she is a wonderful woman and knows that when I come home from shooting or fishing - I am Off Limits untill All my gear is fully Cleaned, put away, and all my cleaning equipment is properly stored.

You can't 'involve' someone without their consent. The closest she comes to getting involved with anything I do is eating what I cook, most of the time. Unless it's the slightest bit spicy, of course... then she accuses me of trying to poison her.

Years ago, I tried to get her to go camping with me down by the river. Her response was, "why would anyone in their right mind want to camp out, when they can drive into town and stay in a hotel?" I'm not sure what's held our marriage together for thirty+ years, but I guarandamntee it isn't thinking alike or sharing the same interests.

Troy, those difference are what has kept my wife and I together for 51 years. Keep on trucking - your doin' it the right way.

Old joke had Adam asking God why Eve was so sweet, God said so you would love her
‘Why so beautiful? So you would want her. ‘Why so stupid?’ So she would love you!

Classic!

My dad once said, "if a woman decides she wants you out of all the millions of men in the world, she's obviously a little bit crazy. So you need to treat her gently..."

My wife is absolutely awesome. She allows, and often encourages me with my strange interests and activities. She is an excellent shot with anything you can hand her. She was a history teacher for almost 40 years and I have a history degree as well.

She puts up with this grumpy old Marine, motorcycle riding, muzzleloader shooter well and laughs about it. Never complains about the rifle/handguns being cleaned in the kitchen sink. We love being together for any adventure either one of us conjures up.

The one thing I could live the rest of my life without is yard work. Thankfully she loves it and mows a couple acres twice a week. I fix the mowers she drives them. We may not understand each other but we sure get along.
