I’ve always envied people who can confidently pick and eat mushrooms. What a fun part of nature’s bounty. For some reason in CO, in my childhood, people were very diligent about keeping us from eating any found mushrooms. Must be a lot of poisonous ones in CO. The stories they told us kids has kept me from ever picking and eating mushrooms my whole life.

Used to hunt chantrelles in W. Washington. They're unique and once you see one, you're golden.
I can't imagine wild turkey and shrooms in garlic.
'Grats on the nice bird!

To be sure the luck was all @sb 54 cal, he’s the one that got the bird. I haven’t been turkey hunting this year. Shrooms and garlic stewed wild turkey sounds delicious though.

Woody, I nearly foundered on Chantrelles this past summer here in Indiana. We had a very wet early Summer and finding loads of them wasn't very difficult. They are on par with morels if not slightly better eating, in my opinion.

Best regards, Skychief.

SB,
You've got a hat trick going there! Only way it could’ve been better is if you coiled have found a gold nugget next to one of the ’shroomz!

nice job! Those morels sure are tasty! I also like shaggy manes in the fall. I like picking ones that are easy to tell apart from the poisonous ones.

I used to be able to pick chanterelles right behind my cabin in Greenwater, Washington. There's no better eating than fresh chanterelles sauteed in butter with fresh garlic. With fresh caught trout.

Congrats on the turkey, the morels, and the crappies. That's a trifecta!!
