"A Man Called Horse" with Richard Harris, WAS about a white man. He was the star and the natives were co-stars. The movie was about him with secondary considerations the natives not primarily.

Of course. Maybe I should have started another paragraph to make my point about other movies. Thoughts run faster than the written word I’m afraid.

Have any of you ever seen, heard of, or watched the Sharp Series with Sean Bean?

Low budget, but I really enjoy it. I caught 1/2 of one episode on a Saturday morning about 15 years ago. I spent the next 3 weeks searching the internet until I bought every episode.

Great Great Series
Have you read the books that the film's were adapted from? They are absolutely thrilling stories, as usual they are light years ahead of the films. They are by Bernard Cornwell.

My favs which all include flintlock arms- The Revenant, Last of The Mohicans and The Patriot. I also have a soft spot for the Alamo movie with Billy Bob Thorton.
None of the movie versions of the siege of the Alamo have been very correct, but from Fess Parker, to John Wayne, to Keith and Arnes, on to Billy Bob, I loved them all.
History Channel did a Texas with Brandon Fraser that was laughable historically but I really enjoyed it.

Cornwall also did a War between the States series about a yankee that goes south and ends up fighting for the south. He stopped after the battle of Antietam but the four are good reads.
