No video today, but, for a few hours, my cap pistol and I had an afternoon date in the woods and that excited me! Been stuck in the house for 4-5 weeks now with all this cold & snow in Kentucky. Hurry up summertime !!

I think you have the latitude and longitude down pretty well Ranch Roper. I put the final finish coat on the ML I have remodeled. [?] Did a few honey-does and took a nap. Then I watched some basketball . going to bed now ... nite all. Polecat

I bought some 1/16" metal to make peeps for several of my rifles, my old eyes can't see sights anymore.

I made this one earlier out of 1/8" stock, it was a pain to bend, especially the bend to fit the curvature of the tang. Once on the rifle it works great.

I made a prototype out of the 1/16" thick metal, easy to bend but a little flimsy. I mounted it on a TC Hawken and found the 1/8" aperture is too large for the sight distance on the TC barrel, the entire rear sight and part of the barrel is visible through the peep. On the clunky sight above I use a much smaller aperture.

The problem with mounting this sight on a TC is the tang screw is a wood screw and too much tightening may strip the threads in the wood. On the sight above the tang bolt is screwed into the trigger place so I could tighten down the peep and keep it in place.

Geez...that's still too small for these o' eyes ...LOL

Cut the excess length of the tang screw for my 36 flintlock that I recently install a new set trigger in. This was done after I finally reassembled an old model 1915 Stevens Favorite 22. Later installed a new sink faucet in one of bathrooms in my personal care home.

Spent the morning cleaning gear and gun from our annual (un-mentionable) quail hunt, had a good day in the gunning fields with the dogs, the weather even cooperated. Got to see some friends that I only see once or twice a year, also was anxious to see a friends dog (Charlie) he was only a puppy last year interested in dragging around corn stalks, he has grown into dog hood and doing well on the birds. Good to get out, now time to start getting ready for the trout fishing and perhaps a trophy rock fish charter.

Oh my......I'd be a basket case doing that anymore. 35 years ago...my bride and I did that twice driving 735 miles from our hometown to Tallahassee Florida and back to N. Kentucky. We were basket cases by the time we got home.
*gasp* BP Maniac quoted me! My life is complete.

Worked on the Kibler build Saturday. Initial filing and polishing on the butt plate. Starting filing and removing parting lines on the trigger guard. Ordered polishing stones to bring out the wedding band details. Getting close to final disassembly for finishing barrel, lock, and wood.

Spent the better part of Sunday finishing my workbench upgrade project. Added 1 1/2" thick maple plywood top and bolted to original woodworkers bench through benchdog holes. Added T slot tracks for clamping and reloading press mounting. Much easier to change modes between types of tasks now.

Yesterday, I replaced the rear sight on my .45 longrifle. Something is not right, I have never had such a time getting a gun to shoot accurately.

4” groups at 25 yards...seriously? What gives?!?!?
