New member, wanting to get into flintlock squirrell hunting with my mnt. cur.
Have a traditions crockett kit on the way to put together with my 9 year old daughter and am currently researching what to get for myself. I know I want a flintlock, leaning towards 36 caliber but may go anywhere between 32 and 40 if I ran across a deal.
The kibler kit it looking tops of the list right now unless I run across a good deal on something already put together.
My dog is about 11 months old and starting pretty good right now. Me and the girl have been hunting her on our farm this fall.
well thats about all for now looking forward to new adventures.

Good luck with your dogs and squirrel rifle. I have 2 young feists now and had more fun hunting with a great feist (Buckley line) and .40 cal many years ago. It was more fun than a grown man should expect to have.

Me and my 9 year old daughter have had a blast this fall trying to get the pup started. I thinks we've treed more squirrels than the dog but she is finally starting to connect the dots. How hard is the .40 cal on them?

Welcome from Perry Co. , Eastern Ky. Several other traditional flintlock shooters around here. Reach out off line if interested.
