After about 25 years since my last flintlock rifle build, I decided to build another flintlock rifle using components by Pecatonica River (as well as other resources). They are still a great company to deal with! This rifle is the A. Verner profiled stock (the patchbox is not a Verner style, though), which I really love. It handles and points very well, and a joy to shoot. It is .45 cal.
The build had it's challenges but presented no major issues for me. My only 'complaint' is that the ramrod hole runs right into the forward lock screw (as did my other two builds from them). Not a major issue, though, since the cleaning jag/extension I keep in the patch box take up the lost inches needed for field use).
I am attaching a few photos. The color of the stock is made by a combination of powdered dyes that I mixed.
Next one is a Kibler kit (.54 cal flintlock, Cherry) in the box waiting for me !

Thanks- it was about three weeks from ordering to delivery. They had the stock already done so no wait on that part.
I have read they they now ship by UPS so shipping should be fine also.
Was wondering about turnaround from PR. Ordered a kit from Sitting Fox on 27 November and still waiting.

Really nice. Beautiful lines on that rifle.

My .32 caliber has a Pecatonica Andrew Verner profiled stock as well. I lime the shape of the Verner stock. Mine too had ots ramrod hole wander. Of cpurse mine wandered to the left and since mine is but left handed, I had a time scraping the hole to allow the ramrod to clear tje forward lock bolt and mainspring.

Dear pathfinder, I to many times run into front lock bolt problems with ram rod. And, yes I have tried smaller bolts, thinking bolts etc. But, I was wondering if you would be so kind as to post a picture or two of what your ram rod extension looks like and maybe how ya made it. Oh by the way I to am from N.J. cape may co. Thanks

Hi fishtales7,
Sure, here is a pic of the ramrod extension that I use. It's solid brass and is in three parts (actually 4, since the cleaning jag unscrews to reveal a 1/8" drill bit jag for some purpose). I got it about 30 years ago and honestly don't remember where from.
It's a great thing to have since there's no way to get the ramrod in past the front lockplate screw, and this extension gives the ramrod a good 7" or 8" extra length. I keep it in my patchbox or shooting bag when i am not using my bench rod.
