It's too bad the book "The Johnson Record" by Susanne Warren-Bicio is no longer available. I believe it was also referred to as " The Book of Lancaster, Carving Details for the Gunmaker"- Full Size, Presision Carving Study of Original Longrifles by Susanne Warren-Bicio.

As stated, it's a book of full-sized carvings, but pencil drawn and shaded to they can be copied onto new work more easily than from pictures. Susanne's website is no longer up. I don't know if Ryan at Muzzleloader Builder Supply would know if any are still available anywhere. Her books are no longer on the MBS website. (Susanne used to own MBS).

Which raises a question I have wondered about. Are there any other sources of stock carving patterns available? My artistic skills are lacking and good quality patterns that could be traced would be great.

English Sporting Rifle. Wood from Dunlap, 31" Rice swamped barrel, sent to Dave Keck for barrel inlet , ramrod hole and butt profile. Chambers lock, other parts from TOW. Finished in 2020, my 8th since 1975. By the time I get the urge to build another one, I've forgotten all I've learned from the last one. My learning curve is a circle. Had it out hunting serveral times already, handles well but still unblooded.
