Depends on what you want to do with it. Are you wanting something historical? (which makes things much more difficult and expensive)
Size needs to be big enough to cover you. Weight, well, you don't need a six pound blanket when it's not that cold. When it is cold, two lighter blankets may work better for you than one super heavy one. And you may feel colder or warmer than the next person, so what works for someone else may not work for you. There is no quick easy answer.

I don't know your purpose or budget, but check out the wool blankets at Jas. Townsend and son. American made, very warm for their weight and big enough for me at 6' 5". I got one for my wife for winter use and she loves it. She said it is not itchy at all.

Just would be wearing it as an outer layer....Iam 6’2” ....someone said a 3 point would be a good size. Just looking for the best place to purchase a wool USA / Canada made blanket...thanks

Crazy Crow has some nice wool trade blankets at reasonable prices if the size works for you.

My military supply house has full size wool blankets from a number of countries, in a number of colors.
Mine is German WW2, could have been new. Cost was under $18.

Old blankets came in colors, but plain white the most common. And are hard to find and more expensive then colors. Townsend has a good one about a hundred and fifty, good colored wool can be had for half that. But good colored can be had for more too. 60x84 will serve you well 3 1/2 to 4 lbs is a good size.
Wool blanketing at about $35 a yard at two and a half yards makes a good blanket.

Prices are good, but sadly all five of the blankets shown on their website are blends of wool & synthetic fibers.

As with Maine military, their available blankets are blends. They did have 100% wool but are sold out. Their (sold out) ACW blanket looked interesting.

Yeah. When you live here you get 100% wool at a walk in look whats new this week sale price in the summer.
Sure enough they have both a 3-lb gray blanket and a 4.2-lb wool blanket.
The 3-lb blanket is 60" x 80" and made from 70% Wool, 30% Synthetic blended material. Measures. Price is $18.99
The 4.2-lb blanket - Measures 66" x 90" and weighs approximately 4.2lbs. 85% Wool, 15% synthetic blended material with black, whip stitched ends. Price is $24.99
Bigger is always better as far as blankets go, so I'd suggest you get the 4.2-lb blanket. Plus it is only 15% synthetic and will be warmer than the 3-lb blanket
