I would fit a .358 barrel to the gun. Just a thought.

Is that something you have done before?
If not, and you try it, you will find out why someone who does it for a living may charge $200 + for the work.
Not as easy as it looks.
Sell the cylinder.

Yes, I lined the 44 cylinder

Don't forget the forcing cone an 11 degree will work fine with it remember it is a small portion of the ball not like a full cylindrical bullet like RN or SWC or even a Conical made for the BP gun. BP pressures won't hurt that in any way IMO.

I have worked with modern unspeakable so I cannot talk about that here.

I think I’ve worked a deal to trade for a 44 cylinder. Thanks guys for the suggestions. I’m sure that since I’ve decided to let it go I’ll find a bargain 36 soon and then have to debate whether I need another cap and ball revolver. Are 6 enough?

Take it back to Cabelas and put a boot in someone's @$$.

No, because it was several years ago, it was in the bargain cave sold as is, was marked as not returnable, and I thought I might get a 36. Also I would have to ship or drive a coupe of hours. It was just not worth the hassle. It is fun to speculate about using in a 44 as is or reaming it.
