I have a new gun in a different caliber, so of course I need another shooting bag. Measures 9"w x 8"h with a 1" gusset and an intetnal pocket. Should serve my Brown Bess well.

Now on to as flint/tool wallet.

Be very careful about collecting more shooting bags. I just sold five personnel shooting bags because I found that I could never find anything with all those bags to look in. I now keep a smoothy bag and a rifle bag. I do have to get a small flintlock pistol bag. Nice bag you got there, not too big or small with plenty of room to sew additional pockets for flints, patches, ect.

I do the same thing. One bag for flint and one bag for percussion. All I have to change out is the round ball pouch and I am good to go.

At one time I intended to have a bag for each rifle. That was MANY rifles and pistols ago so a bag for each isn't practical. I have it down to three bags: flintlock, percussion, and 32 caliber. All my 32s are percussion and it's convenient to have the round ball, lubed patches, and ramrod tips together. I use a water tight ammo box to hold the loads and gear for cap and ball revolvers.

Gee! And it only took about thirty years to figure this out.

JB, nice looking bag, do you have a pattern you follow to make that? Or is that just all free hand? Would like to make one for my .32 caliber flintlock to tote around in the woods for squirrels

Thanks! I made a pattern out of cereal box cardboard, mainly to get the symmetry right.

Let me think about making one. Same size?

Ahh sorry, i meant to say I would like to make one myself, was just curious if you got the pattern from a book or you just made one yourself.
