All, I have a salvaged sight base that I have no need for and couldn't bring myself to throw it away. Hoping it will be of useful to someone for a project. It came off of an octagon 15/16" barrel, but had been brazed on. I removed it from the barrel I am reusing, there is still braze on it. It will need a little file work, and more parts added to finish off. Will gladly pass along to someone that can use this. So who needs this?

I agree. Nice gesture. But just cleaning it up won’t make it any more usable as the tab for the other screwhole is broken off hence the brazing. And a TC Hawken sight is impossible to mount securely with only one screw.

Will take a file to it tonight and try to clean it up some. Based on what else I have found. Thinking the previous owner trued to pocket weld it with braze onto the barrel.

The second hole is there, it was brazed closed. However, it does appear to be a bit thin on the back side of the hole. With a little ingenuity and work, it would function fine I do believe. I guess if no one has a use or want this, I can throw it into my springs and random box.

Let it ride. At some point someone will be looking for one and be greatful that you had one at a price that is hard to beat, even if it is a ‘fixer upper’. You followed forum rules and set a price. Would call price ‘free’ if someone needed or wanted the item. Thank you.
Will gladly pass along to someone that can use this. So who needs this?

You are correct, I guess I should have made that a bit clearer.

This sight is free, and I am even willing to eat the shipping on it.
