Warning to newbies in this crazy ml game. This is what kind of craziness can happen to you. Shown in the pic are about 37 ram rods I have accumulated over the years. There are more in the safe with the rifles. Probably have about 45 total. The realization has come over me that the time in my life to get rid of excess 'stuff' has come. I'll be offering most of these rods for sale in classifieds here later. Some are blanks, many have brass tips, some male, some female (I think all 10x32). Some have handles and/or muzzle guards. A few are unique like wood I turned or fancy antique glass doorknob. Some are wood, some Delrin and a couple steel. I have to figure out how best to offer these. I'll offer at very reasonable prices.
EDIT: The entire pic did not post, handles do not show.

My experience with my former business and shipping to friends etc. is that they are a pain to pack and ship so that they won't get bent or broken. I'd be tempted to offer all as a lot and drop them in a piece of pipe to ship.

Do you have 45 friends? ;)

I bought some from Track a year or two ago and they were shipped in a box about 3-4 inches square and about 48 inches long with a piece of styrofoam at each end. Shipping several is probably worth while and one at a time will be a pain.

I’d sell the nice complete ones for a set price individually and combine some of the lesser ones in lots so you don’t have sell and ship them one at a time.

That's a sensible and realistic comment! Hope he takes the advice!

Two days after selling them I would find myself needin' one bad so bad it would cost me what I just sold 10 fer.

Aint costin" a thing to keep em around unless you really need the cash. Just a thought.

PVC is good but would add the weight and shipping cost. At my age and health these would end up in the dumpster. I would rather sell reasonably and let others enjoy. I would entertain offers for the lot.

You got that right!

I'm watching this as well.

Guys, finding time to catalog them is the hang up. Plus, in the past two days I have found someone who may need a special rod I can fix him up with. If/when I do sell as a lot I'll probably use a cardboard tube from the carpet store. I'll post a different pic soon showing the top/handle end of these that got cut off.

Funny thing, I recently broke beyond repair the ramrod that came with my Lyman GPR. If that wasn't bad enough, I mistakenly used it to push a .54cal. bore brush down the .50cal. bbl. and managed to wedge it there but good: required removing the breech plug to push the mess out of the bbl. Needless to say, I could use a replacement if for no other reason than to fill the ramrod pipes: I then saw your post.

Maven, yer experience is a perfect example of why one should never buy just one ram rod at a time. Rods are almost disposable items. Stuff happens. A 'show' or 'sorta authentic' one on the rifle, a range rod, preferably unbreakable and a spare are the minimums. Do that for every rifle you acquire and eventually you will be me.o_O

Your post got me to thinking and looking around my shop and safes, I found around 35 ramrods !...and the strange thing is I just finished up another one for a rifle yesterday !
