Friends, it is time for a new contest! August target was submitted by a member, and I liked it so you get to be tortured by it!

Find your target here: https://www.colliersportsmens.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/target01.pdf

One shot per corner square, each hit that breaks the line is worth one point. If your hit is completely within the boundaries of the square without breaking the lines it is worth two points! Duplicate hits on the same square do not count.

Your fifth shot (or first) will be at the center of the Target, any hit that breaks the line of the inner two inch box scores the point. This one is two inches so no extra points for making it entirely in the box.

Fire 5 shots only, misses count!

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

No do-over’s.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzle loading firearms; peeps are allowed under the condition you mark your target so I know you used a peep. (Tracking it)(NO Cannons) . Percussion or flintlock ignition. Cap and Ball revolvers are OK.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance. Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso. In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle.

Only original targets will be accepted, (see below for exception to this rule). No copies, faxes, scan, etc.
**New Rule!!**
Overseas participants may scan and e-mail me the target at [email protected]. As long as I can CLEARLY make the target out I'll accept it.** (I recommend using a dark backing paper when you scan / copy it if possible so that the holes show clearly)
**Currently this will only apply to target shoots that I don't have to measure with a ruler. Unfortunately I do not have a printer to print them out with.**

Mutilated targets, or targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

The center of the shot and the placement on the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

As stated above if you use peep sights that too must be marked on your target. (Pretty Please!)

Mail your target postmarked by August 31st 2019 to:

Terry, the posted link worked for me, as I already printed a few targets. Now that my health seems to be improving, I'm hoping to compete again. Here's some irony though: Now that I'm able to shoot, I haven't a place to do so as my range is closed for renovations. However, those should be completed before the target is due.

Thats odd?? It works from my computer. Let me see if I can find it on another site.

Try this one: Its basically the same target: http://www.mytargets.com/target103 grid black corners.pdf
This link worked fine.
I don't know why the other one didn't. I'm running two different web browsers on the two computers but I'm using Bitdefender on both of them.

I've noticed that Bitdefender gets a bit paranoid with some sites and it will refuse to open them. In this case with the first link, it wasn't giving me its usual warning about the site being unsafe. It clearly said the server wasn't found. I guess it wasn't looking hard enough.:D

Thanks for the new link. :thumb:

Got it done today after a brief hiatus. Good lord, my rifle's heavier than I remember and shooting offhand, at least for me, ain't exactly my forte. In spite of this, I really enjoyed it.
Thanks again Terry for running these postal matches!
