Found an older Navy Arms Zouave at a sale. These have been around forever, but this one has a barrel by FARA, Gardone, Italy, not the usual Zoli. It stood out because the fit and finish, inletting, tightness of assembly, all were a notch above the many I've seen over the years. There were many small shops making the various parts, and these rifles could have been assembled by various vendors. My Navy Arms has beautiful casehardened lock with the Eagle and NA logo. Anyone else ever see a FARA barrel on one of these? Thanks, all.

I can't answer your question but can tell you about the Navy Arms zouave I had back about 1971. Fit/finish was pretty good as was accuracy and reliability. It was a good looking rifle but I eventually sold it for some reason or another. Not a bad choice in a .58.

Took my Zouave out just last week. It's a Ranson Remington Italian, 1975 unfired.
As per it hits high under 100 yards but will put one hole touching others. Shooting .562/.020 prb, 65 gns. Very happy. .575 minie shoots good too.

Some of the early Zouaves have a brazed bolster. In the North South Skirmish Association, we won't allow those in competition because of safety concerns.

Hello springfield art, I have a Zoave by FARA. It took a lot of searching but I did find some info. FARA is or was the firearms manufacturing company founded by Antinio Zoli's younger brother. I don't remember his name as it's been at least ten years ago. I don't even remember the actual company name. But everything I've read is the quality is as high as an A.Zoli but just not the name recognition. I hope this helps.
